On 4 April 2021, unknown militants shelled Coalition and U.S. forces in the Al Balad Air Base in Sala al-Din province. Two rockets landed near the air base fence. One rocket overshot its targeted landing in the adjacent civilian area of Yathrib in Balad district. The rocket attack did not cause any material or human losses. The rocket strike originated from the Dojama area of Diyala province.
