On 26 April 2021, at least 3 bodyguards (assumed police) and 13 students from religious schools were wounded, after one of several rockets fired by the Taliban hit the Kunar governor's office while a religious event (Holy Quran competition) was being held in the city of Asadabad, Kunar. The rocket had been fired from a mountain range in the Marwara district near the Durand Line in Asadabad.
