On 27 April 2021, an IED planted by an unidentified group detonated and hit the vehicle of the electricity company in a rural area in Kani Masi sub-district of Duhok. One electric technician and 2 other civilians inside the vehicle were wounded. The group was reportedly in the area to repair the power lines which were damaged due to the clashes between Turkish forces and PKK.
