On 3 May 2021, PKK forces carried out an airstrike with aerial vehicles' (assumed to be drones, balloons or paramotors) hitting the Cukurca sub-governorship office in Cukurca town, Hakkari. One child who was sitting inside a car nearby was lightly injured by the window glass that broke due to the impact of the explosion.
