Rocket event in Quneitra, Quneitra area, Syrian Arab Republic on Sat 1st May 2021

On 1 May 2021, regime forces fired several Grad missiles on the town of Um Batna in the countryside of Quneitra in connection with the attack on the regime's checkpoint in the area of Jaba the previous day. Regime forces besieged the town and threatened to launch a military operation in the town and forcibly displace its residents if they didn't hand over several young men wanted by the regime in order to displace them to the Syrian north. After meeting with local dignitaries, regime forces allowed local residents to return to their homes from which they were displaced earlier in the day and released several women that were arrested while they were leaving the town. Several people were injured as a result of the shelling of the town by regime forces. No fatalities were reported.
