On 4 May 2021, unidentified militants detonated an explosive device targeting a loading area for convoys carrying logistical materials for the US belonging to a contractor (Iraqi company and drivers) for the Global Coalition Against Daesh near the Al Jirayshan area near the Iraqi-Kuwaiti border. Neither injuries nor fatalities occurred.
