On 21 March 2021, regime forces shelled Atareb in Aleppo using at least 3 rockets or mortars, impacting the Atareb Surgical Hospital. At least 8 civilians were killed including 2 students and a child student and approximately 10 others were wounded including medical staff and the director of the Health Department of Free Aleppo. The hospital also sustained widespread damages.
