During a ground reconnaissance operation in the town of Guadalupe de los Reyes, in the municipality of Cosalá, Mexican Army personnel located and seized a significant arsenal of firearms, grenades, magazines, and ammunition.
The find included four long guns, a homemade .40 mm caliber weapon, two grenade launchers of the same caliber, 12 .40 mm caliber grenades, two hand grenades, 50 magazines for AK-47 and AR-15 rifles, and three magazines for Barrett rifles. Also seized were live rounds, the exact number of which has yet to be determined.
All the seized material was handed over to the Attorney General's Office, which will conduct the corresponding investigations to determine its origin and possible links to criminal activities.
The action was the result of a joint operation between the National Guard, the Navy, the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection, the Attorney General's Office, the State Attorney General's Office, and the Sinaloa Public Security Secretariat, through the State Preventive Police.
