On 18 January 2021, unknown militants targeted a convoy carrying logistical materials for the US belonging to a contractor (Iraqi company and drivers) for the Global Coalition with a roadside IED on the Thi-Qar highway, causing only material damages. The same convoy hit a second IED at a close location, which caused material damages to one of the convoy's vehicles. Coded at provincial capital, Nassriya.
