On 20 January 2021, a remote controlled IED by Al Shabaab militants detonated, targeting the government security forces (SNA) commander's vehicle near Ablow village on the road between Luuq and Dolow, near Luuq town (Luuq, Gedo). At least eleven soldiers were injured in the ambush.
