On 19 January 2021, two IEDs by Al Shabaab militants detonated, targeting an AMISOM/government security forces (SNA) convoy moving from Shalambood to Danow, as it passed near Danow village (Marka, Lower Shabelle). A number of AMISOM and SNA soldiers were reportedly killed. Fatalities coded as 3.
