On 14 March 2021, HBDH militants carried out a remote explosive attack in Ugur Mumcu neighborhood of Sultangazi, Istanbul, targeting fiber-optic communication lines providing internet to the neighborhood. No interaction with civilians was reported but the attack inflicted material damage to the infrastructure, causing internet service cuts.
