On 14 March 2021, Martyr Ekin Van and Martyr Reber Varto vengeance units carried out a remote explosive attack targeting a Gendarmerie roadside checkpoint in Kozluk district of Batman. The source reported that the targeted soldiers 'fled' their positions as a result of the attack, suggesting there were no casualties.
