On 15 February 2021, AMISOM UNDF fired at least five mortar shells at Degwariri village near Janaale village (Marka, Lower Shabelle), where they suspected Al Shabaab militants to be based. At least two civilians were killed, three others injured and several houses were destroyed by shells.
