On 17 February 2021, unknown militants detonated a roadside explosive device targeting a convoy carrying logistical materials for the US belonging to a contractor (Iraqi company and drivers) for the Global Coalition on the Nassriya road within Thi-Qar province. No injuries or fatalities.
