On 12 March 2021, at least 7 civilians and 1 Afghan security personnel were killed while 36 civilians and 11 Afghan security personnel were wounded when a car bomb exploded near a police station in PD14 of Herat city. It's unclear who planted the bomb. Afghan officials blamed the Taliban as the militants denied they were behind the attack.
