The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented the death of a young man, as a result of a landmine explosion that left over from the war, while he was grazing cattle on the land of the village of Al-Jarniya in the area of Sahl al-Ghab in north-western countryside of Hama. Yesterday, SOHR activists said that a child died of his injuries sustained and three others were injured, as a result of an old ordnance left over from the war in al-Muyassar neighbourhood in Aleppo city. An increasing number of people killed recently by a landmine, unexploded bombs, and collapse of war-damaged residential buildings in various Syrian areas and cities such as Homs, Hama Deir Ezzor, Aleppo, and southern Syria. The Syrian Observatory has documented since January 2019 to date some 471 fatalities, including 72 women and 146 children. Of the total number, the Syrian Observatory documented the deaths of 112 people, including 45 women and six children, in their search and collect for “Syrian wild truffles”, which put their lives at risk, “Syrian wild truffles” grow in areas that are exposed to heavy rains and are sold at high prices.
