On 7 February 2021, a remote controlled IED by Al Shabaab militants, targeting government security forces (SNA) traveling from Guriel heading to Dhuusamarreeb, detonated in the vicinity of Ceel Dheer town (Ceel Dheer, Galgaduud). Eleven soldiers were killed, including from the Galmudug Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA).
