On 8 February 2021, a security forces' ranger pickup was hit by a Taliban IED blast in Wayan area of Shah Wali Kot district, Kandahar provinces, killing all personnel on board. Fatalities coded as 0 (VoJ reported unknown killed that was coded as 10).
