On 9 February 2021, 5 public protection force (police) were killed and 1 wounded in a Taliban planted roadside IED blast along the Herat-Islam Qala highway in Deh Surkh area of Zinda Jan district, Herat province. VoJ reported 6 security personnel were killed in the blast. Fatalities coded as 5 (VoJ reported 6 fatalities).
