On 27 February 2021, in Buenaventura, Valle del Cauca department, six children were injured when an explosive device they found on the streets of the Juan XXIII neighborhood got activated. Authorities haven't yet confirmed if the explosive was a grenade or an IED. There is a presence of several armed groups in the area.
