On 30 January 2021, 1 soldier was killed and 2 including a border police commander were wounded in a Taliban-planted bomb blast in Shayesta Bazaar area of Spin Boldak district, Kandahar province. VoJ reported the commander along with 4 other security personnel were killed in the blast. Fatalities coded as 1 (VoJ reported 5 fatalities).
