On 30 January 2021, Afghan military forces launched an air and ground operation on Taliban militants in Arghandab district of Kandahar province killing 37-39 militants and wounding 5. Kandahar police chief claimed 39 militants were killed. During the operation, 87 rounds of artillery shell, 1 vehicle and large amount of weapons and ammunition were destroyed. In addition, 30 rounds of Taliban planted IEDs were also discovered and defused in the limits of Arghandab, Maywand and Zhari districts in the same province. Fatalities coded as 37.
