On 28 March 2021, at least 14 civilians and 2 Afghan National Directorate of Security officers were wounded after an improvised bomb attached to a motorcycle exploded at Mujahid Square in the city of Khost. The explosion occurred at a public meeting under the title of Jashn-e-Jamhuriat in a football stadium attended by thousands of politicans and locals in support of the peace negotiations.
