On 16 October 2020, an explosion of an unknown nature targeted a military checkpoint of the 51st Brigade in the outskirts of the town of Ihtaymilat in the northern countryside of Aleppo. The explosion occurred while an unidentified reconnaissance drone was flying over the area. Several 51st Brigade fighters were injured. No fatalities were reported.
