On 1 October 2020, unidentified armed group launched a guided missile (unexploded) targeting an international coalition convoy on the Shomeli area (Shomeli road) in Babylon (connecting to Diwaniya). The convoy was transporting equipment that had withdrawn from Iraq by Iraqi transport companies and Iraqi civilian drivers. The attack caused damage to one of the containers without losses.
