On 2 October 2020, Malay Muslim Separatists detonated an IED on the roadside in Champako village, Moo 1, tambon Bare Nuea (Bacho district, Narathiwat), targeting a team of rangers on patrol. As the soldiers waited for backup to inspect the scene, another IED was detonated. No injuries reported.
