On 5 October 2020, Egyptian military forces engaged in heavy artillery shelling targeting the Islamic State in Sheikh Zuweiyid (Shaykh Zuwayd, North Sinai) following an Islamic State attack earlier that day that left 1 Lieutenant dead. There were no reports on resulting fatalities or injuries from the shelling.
