On 6 October 2020, Turkish Army forces conducted airstrikes against PKK militants in Desta Kafya area (Kurdish name) in Gara (Chiya-e Gara) region of Dahuk, Northern Iraq. Civilian houses in the area was reportedly damaged due to the attacks. Turkish sources reported total 5 PKK militants were killed or injured in the airstrikes carried out on the same day in Haftanin and Gara regions of Dahuk.
