On 26 September 2020, a VBIED, planted by an unidentified armed group, exploded near the scrap area in the industrial area located in the southern entrance of the city of Ras al Ain in Al-Hasakeh. The explosion killed between 2 and 7 civilians, including children, and injured tens of others.
