Around 30 September 2020 (between 27 September - 3 October), at least 40 artillery shells and some 15 rockets landed in Khoda Afarin County as a result of the nearby Nagorno-Karabakh conflict across the border. 2 county villages were struck, 1 child was injured, and part of the county lost electricity as a result. In Parviz Khanlu village, 2 buildings were damaged and 2 civilians injured by rocket fire. It is not clear if the projectiles were fired by Armenia or Azerbaijan.
