On 19 September 2020, Afghan ministry of defense said they conducted airstrikes in Khan Abad district, Kunduz, killing at least 30 Taliban militants and wounding 8 others. Other sources reported that 20 civilians were killed and wounded during the airstrikes (coded as half). Afghan forces denied any civilians were killed. Afghan Islamic Press News Agency reported that there was a ceremony attended by Taliban and the locals at a school in the district when airstikes took place. VoJ said 23 civilians were killed and 11 were wounded. Fatalities coded as 40 (VoJ reported 23 fatalities).
