SAA event in Chhattisgarh, Gundarajgudem, Sukma District area, India on Thu 9th January 2025
9th January 2025
Security Forces (SFs) killed three wanted Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres in an encounter in the hilly terrains between Paliguda-Gundarajgudem villages in Sukma District in the Bastar division of Chhattisgarh on January 9, reports newsriveting.com. The bodies have been recovered by the SFs along with a huge cache of arms and ammunition, including a BGL launcher, from the site. The operation was launched by a joint team of the District Reserve Guard (DRG), Special Task Force (STF) of Chhattisgarh Police, and elite Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) commandos from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) based on the intelligence tip-off about the presence of top Maoist leaders in the area. Police suspect that the killed Maoists had been affiliated with the People's Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) organisation and the South Bastar Division Committee of the CPI-Maoist. The identity of the slain Maoists is yet to be ascertained.
