On January 6, a clash broke out between two factions of Bangladesh National Party (BNP) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) injuring at least five people over the supply of sand to a contracting company, at Zorarganj marketMirsharai Upazila (Sub-District) in Chittagong District of Chittagong Division, reports Prothom Alo. One of the two parties involved in the clash is controlled by Masukul Alam, the member secretary of the Zorarganj Union BNP. The other side is led by JeI’s Jamal Uddin. No case has been filed the Police in the incident.
