Security Forces (SFs), comprising the 168th battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and local law enforcement, successfully defused eight Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) suspected to have been planted by the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) during a routine Road Opening Party (ROP) exercise near a temple in Timapur in Bijapur District in the Bastar division of Chhattisgarh on January 1, reportsdevdiscourse.com. Additionally, a CRPF’s Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) unit recovered two more IEDs between Kondapalli and Chhutwai villages in the district. The explosives, planted by the Maoists, were defused by a team of the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS).
