POLICE have issued an update after a hand grenade was discovered in a property in Cam.
Officers confirmed the explosive was 'safely recovered' from an address in Wragg Court on Tuesday, January 14.
A spokesperson from Stroud Police said: “Thank you for all residents' understanding & patience this afternoon whilst officers assisted the EOD team in the safe recovery of a hand grenade that was located in a property in Wragg Court, Cam.
“All road closures have now been lifted and residents can return to their properties.”
A spokesperson from Gloucestershire Police said: "Police were called to a report of a grenade that was discovered at a property on Wragg Court, Cam shortly before 11am on Tuesday, January 14.
"A cordon was put into place and nearby flats were evacuated as a safety precaution so that the Explosive Ordnance Disposal could attend and assess the device.
"The item was deemed to be safe and a further search of the property was conducted to ensure no other devices were on site.
"The cordon was removed at around 4pm.
"Officers would like to thank everyone for their co-operation during this time."
