A new attack attributed to the rebels of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) was reported in the early hours of Wednesday, January 15, 2025 in Makoko and Vusayi, entities located approximately 10 kilometers from the village of Muhangi, in the Lubero territory, in North Kivu.
Contacted by Actu30.cd, Masinda Moïse, president of the civil society of Muhangi, said that during this attack, 10 people were savagely killed. He indicated that the victims were mostly farmers.
"Presumed ADF rebels attacked the localities of Makoko, Vusayi and Luthambi. The provisional toll is more than 10 people massacred, mostly farmers. The group leader Bulengya and his secretary were also killed by these attackers. The bodies of the victims are still in the bush ," he explains.
Civil society in Muhangi reports that there is a massive displacement of residents following this new attack, fearing for their safety. Masinda Moïse asks the military hierarchy to deploy FARDC elements in this entity to protect the population.
