Two persons have been killed during a communal land dispute between communities in Oka Akoko, Akoko South West Local council area of Ondo State.

The state police command confirmed the death of persons while 10 others persons were seriously injured in the bloody communal clash which started on Sunday.

Also, the Palace of the Asin of Oka-Odo, an event hall and many other houses were also destroyed by the warning youths in the communities.

Reliable source said that those injured during the clash were rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, in Iwaro-Oka for treatment.

An eyewitness account said that ” Oka-Odo Community was attacked by suspected hoodlums allegedly from the neighbouring Ebo community.

“Both the palace and the event hall have been completely destroyed, and several houses were set on fire.

“Earlier that same day, members of the Owake Community had gone to install signposts on lands along Ikun road, acting in line with an Appeal Court judgment that affirmed their ownership of the disputed lands.
