On 16 December 2024, Russian Forces launched 49 Shahed and other drones (suspectedly referring to decoy drones) at targets in Ukraine. Ukrainian Forces intercepted 27 drones, some of them over Cherkasy region (coded to Cherkasy, Cherkasy). The fallen debris of the downed drones damaged power lines in the region. No casualties.
