On 16 December 2024, a 35-year-old man was killed in a pressure-activated Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion suspectedly planted by Naxal-Maoist cadres in the Kohkabeda forest in Dantewada district (coded to Dantewada town, Chhattisgarh). The incident took place when the victim went to collect firewood.
