On 18 December 2024, an unidentified armed group detonated several hand bombs in Dagmawi Menelik, Atse Tewodros, and Belay Zeleke sub-cities of Bahir Dar (Bahir Dar town, West Gojam, Amhara), targeting persons who were participating in the organizing of the rally to support the government. The bomb targeted participants and organizers of the rally to support the government conducted on 18 December 2024. Casualties unknown. The minister of communication services confirmed the bomb explosions, and the Amhara regional police claimed to be investigating the arrest of two suspects.
