On 9 September 2020, Iranian forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps shelled positions of the KDP in the Jabal Biradawst (Bradost) area near Sidakan, in Soran district of Erbil, causing damage to homes in the area, but no injuries. Barbzin village where one of the KDP military bases is located was targeted in the shelling.
