On 6 January 2025, three Taliban members were wounded in a grenade attack by National Resistance Front militants targeting the Taliban provincial security headquarters in Kunduz city. One of the injured was reported to be in critical condition. However, the NRF claimed to have killed four Taliban members, including the bodyguards of the Taliban police chief, wounded five others, and destroyed two vehicles in the attack. No casualties from NRF. Fatalities coded as 0 based on the lowest count.
