On 7 January 2025, a 7-year-old girl was killed in a pressure-activated IED explosion suspectedly planted by CPI (Maoist) cadres in Tirilposi-Thalkobad stretch in Saranda Forest (coded to Chaibasa, West Singhbhum district, Jharkhand). The incident took place when the victim went to collect firewood.
