On 9 January 2025, in Aing San village of Loikaw township (Loikaw district, Kayah state), the Myanmar military LIB-530 based in Loilenlay town fired heavy weapons at least five times in the afternoon, which fell and exploded into the village. Two 12-year-old girls were killed. A 5-month-old infant and a 30-year-old woman were injured. Five houses were destroyed. Locals claimed that the military fired heavy weapons as local PDF troops captured their outpost near Shwe Ta Gu village (coded separately).
