On 10 January 2025, Iraqi F-16 fighter jets conducted precise airstrikes targeting IS hideouts in the Hamrin Mountains - Diyala (Al Muqdadiya, Diyala). Following the strike, a ground operation by the Counter-Terrorism Service, supported by engineering units, uncovered six bodies of IS operatives, including the so-called 'Deputy Wali of Kirkuk,' Maher Hamad Salbi (Abu Ubaida). Additionally, weapons, thermal optics, explosive devices, and other equipment were recovered. 6 fatalities.
