UAV event in Sumy area, Ukraine on Mon 13th January 2025

Yesterday, a mobile group of the explosives department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Sumy region neutralized the warhead of a Russian strike drone shot down by the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

The police hotline "102" received a message from a resident of one of the villages of Sumy district that an enemy unmanned aerial vehicle shot down by the Defense Forces of Ukraine was discovered near the settlement where he lives.

Arriving at the specified coordinates, the mobile group of the explosives service of the Main Police Department in Sumy region inspected the downed drone, neutralized its 50-kilogram warhead, and took it to a training ground for destruction by explosion.

"Yesterday, our department's employees also visited another settlement in Sumy region, near which a powerful enemy aircraft missile was shot down recently. A mobile group of explosives technicians inspected the area, discovered parts of the missile body and a large number of fragments. When examining them, police sappers established that they do not pose a danger to others and do not contain explosive substances," comments Ihor Chernyak, head of the explosives service department of the Main Police Department in Sumy region.
