Roughly 105 people in Finland's capital reported food poisoning-related symptoms after eating oysters in November-December, according to the Helsinki Food Safety Unit.The cases are linked to oysters from the Netherlands, France, Ireland and Spain, and have occurred at 19 restaurants and outlets, the City of Helsinki in a statement published on Monday.City officials reported that norovirus has been detected in some oyster samples as well as in patient samples.The first reports of food poisoning emerged in December.No new cases have been reported to the city's Environmental Services, indicating an end to the outbreak, the statement said.The City of Helsinki also cautioned that raw oysters always carry a risk of infection, even though not all are contaminated. Oysters can absorb norovirus if they grow in water polluted with human faeces.
