Ukrainian drones attacked the only luxury skyscraper in Kazan. The apartment of the general director of Alabuga, where Shaheds are produced, may be located next to it. At least eight drones attacked Kazan on Saturday morning. Six of them hit at least three residential buildings, one hit an industrial enterprise. Judging by the video of eyewitnesses, hitting at least one building - the only skyscraper in Kazan - was hardly an accident. This makes this attack similar to the attack in May 2023, when drones reached Rublyovka. Details. According to a report from the press service of the head of Tatarstan, eight landings were recorded in Kazan, one of which was at an industrial enterprise, one over the river, and six in a residential area. The industrial enterprise was not damaged, according to the authorities of Tatarstan. ▪️There are no casualties, the press service clarified. At the same time, Shot wrote about three victims, who mainly had cuts from broken glass. ▪️According to the Defense Ministry's report, the drones were intercepted by the Defense Ministry in six cases - in three cases, they were shot down by air defense, and in three cases, they were suppressed by electronic warfare. ▪️Two drones crashed into the 37-story residential complex "Lazurnye Nebesa" - the first and only skyscraper in Kazan. The published videos of the attack show that both drones hit approximately the same place, which practically excludes an accidental hit on the building built in 2013. According to 2gis data, there are mainly apartments and only a few organizations here. The cheapest apartment in the building, according to the Cian service, is sold for 18.7 million rubles, the most expensive - for 69.9 million rubles. ▪️The building next to the skyscraper, the Greenwich residential building, may house the apartment of Timur Shagivaleev, CEO of the Alabuga special economic zone, according to leaks studied by the Agency. Shagivaleev indicated this address when registering for the Sportmaster loyalty program. The Shakhed production facility is located in Alabuga. ▪️Another damaged building is the Manhattan residential complex. The UAV hit its spire. Manhattan is a 24-story building commissioned in 2020. According to 2gis, it is also primarily residential: the building houses a few organizations - a grocery store, a private clinic, beauty salons, and several offices. The cheapest apartment in this complex, which is listed on Avito, is sold for 9.5 million rubles, the most expensive - 14.8 million rubles. ▪️Another drone hit the roof of a four-story building in the north of the city, on Klara Zetkin Street. Judging by the published videos (1, 2), the drone hit house 31A, according to the Agency's analysis. This is a residential building built in 1959. There are no organizations in it. ▪️The Tatarstan authorities did not name the enterprise that was one of the targets of the attack. At the same time,the Ukrainian Center for Countering Disinformation mentioned that there is a gunpowder factory in Kazan. It is located in the northern part of the city, about 2 km from the house on Klara Zetkin Street. ▪️Baza writes that the UAVs hit six buildings, but the information still needs to be verified. Telegram channels name three more streets,where the buildings damaged in the attack may be located: Yutazinskaya, Hadi Taktasha, and Krasnoy Pozitsiya. According to eyewitness videos, on the last street (about 1.5 km from the Azure Skies skyscraper), the drone exploded next to several residential buildings. The Agency was unable to find videos of hits on the other streets at the time of publication. Yutazinskaya Street is about 3.5 km north of the gunpowder factory, and Hadi Taktasha Street is about 2 km closer to the center from the Manhattan residential complex. Context. Ukraine has already used UAVs to exert psychological pressure on the Russian elite. In May 2023, they were used to attack the Kremlin first, and then, as part of a large-scale attack, several drones fell on Rublyovka, next to the homes of the Russian elite, including friends of Vladimir Putin, and also several kilometers from the president's own residence in Novo-Ogaryovo (more details). ▪️The drone attack affected life in the city.
