In the first response to the attack on the Southern Transitional Council's salary disbursement committee in Abyan Governorate, the "joint forces" stormed a valley devoid of militants, which the militants used as an escape route after carrying out the attack. Special security sources told Al-Masdar Online that a joint force, including the Security Belt, security and military units affiliated with Abyan Security, and the Fifth Support and Backup Brigade, carried out a storming of the "Sari" valley in the Al-Khabar area in Khanfar District, where the forces deployed in the valley without facing any resistance or clashes, as the place was completely empty of militants. The sources indicated that the militants suspected of belonging to "Al-Qaeda" used the valley yesterday, Thursday, as an escape route, after they carried out an armed ambush targeting the salary disbursement committee, which resulted in the killing of four committee members and the capture of a fifth. The incident is added to a series of attacks targeting security and military forces in Abyan, despite the ongoing joint military operations to control the troubled areas for long periods.
